One victim shot due to family dispute in Utah

MILLCREEK, UTAH —An 88-year-old shooting suspects in the hospital Thursday night after a standoff with police. He’s accused of shooting a 65-year-old man with whom he’s related.

“It’s generally uncommon to see individuals of this age engage in this kind of activity,” UPD Detective Ken Hansen said.

Unified Police said the shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. near 2000 East Sierra Ridge Circle.

“This appears to be the result of a long, ongoing family dispute,” Det. Hansen said.

Police would not release exactly how the men are related.

Neighbor Janelle Heck said she got a call from her partner saying a man was walking down the street bleeding from the arm.
