Man shot, killed in Chicago

A man was killed in a shooting Thursday in Chatham on the South Side.

Tyevell Marquise Qualls, 18, was struck by gunfire in the leg, wrist and neck about 6:15 p.m. in the first block of East 83rd Street, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

An autopsy confirmed Qualls died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
